How To Become Successful
Are you interested in that? Have you ever asked yourself, "How do I do that?"
Lots of people in this world want to become successful. Years ago, I used to think that success was equated to exactly how much money you earn in life. That's how twisted my thinking was. I thought that in order to be successful, you needed to be wealthy, then you could label yourself as "successful." That's twisted.
Why is it twisted? I'll tell you why. Because the masses; the world has been programmed by the news; by their so-called friends and well-meaning relatives that success means wealth.
Over the last 20 years or so, I've had the desire to eventually write a book. But, in order for me to write a book on How To Become Successful, I personally needed to 'become a success' in order to be the example. I didn't want to be a hyprocrite, so I put a 'price tag' on that for myself. I wanted to earn a million dollars a year before I wrote the book.
Do you see what I was doing? I was equating income and wealth to success. For example, let's talk about rags-to-riches for a moment. When someone is poor, literally without any money at all, and builds themselves to the point where they become extremely wealthy, that person is successful, aren't they?
In the sports world, there's a man who was raised in an orphanage that made it to the Baseball Hall of Fame. That was Babe Ruth, wasn't it?
Unfortunately, people use the comparisons, but you need to, in order to make a point of people that were at the lowest of lows and built themselves, overcame all of their challenges, problems and issues to rise themselves up to tremendous success, no matter what field they're in.
So, before I decided to write this blog post, I thought I needed to be highly successful in order to be an expert on the subject. I don't need to be an expert on the subject. I want to talk about what it takes to become successful because success is not always equated to those things.
Success is a state of mind.
The dictionary defines success as 'achieving an aim or a purpose' and yes, that's the definition of success. But there's a lot more to it. Not even the dictionary can put the components together and explain them because it would literally take pages upon pages to define success. Success is defined differently for all individuals.
There are certain things in life that I have done personally and what I'd like to do is explain different stories of my own life to show you what I mean when I'm speaking about things like How To Become Successful.
For example, my most recent success has been creating a business on the internet where my wife and I were able to send our 16 year old autistic daughter to a private school, instead of public schools.
That required becoming more successful at the business that we're working. What did it take to become successful in that business?
It's an online business, so we needed to learn how to create traffic and drive that traffic to our websites an enable others to see those websites, so that we could identify those that are interested in what we provide.
Those that were interested in knowing more about what we provide were able to opt in and subscribe to get more information on video. In order to earn an income, some of those people decide to purchase what we're providing.
I don't care what you market, online. That's the system. You create traffic, you build your list of people that are interested in knowing more and then some of those will convert into sales and purchases of your products and services. That's just basic business.
But there are certain activities that we needed to do in order to become successful. The first activity was building our mindset because without building our mindset in the right direction, we would not have learned how to create traffic, build a list and convert sales. It all starts with mindset and literally, success does start with desire.
That's the starting point of all achievement. I did not discover that on my own. I read and learned that. That's another thing abour success. If you're willing to learn, then you can identify the different things that will teach you. The starting point of desire came from a book called Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. He spent decades studying the most highly successful people in the world and came to that conclusion.
I trust what he said, based on years of his experience, activities and knowledge gained by interviewing people that had been highly successful in life. You want to know who is successful in life. You follow those people, see what they've done, see how their mindset is, and then just recreate their mindset on your own. Attitude is the only thing over which you have 100% absolute control. You want to set your mind correctly to succeed.
A willingness to take action every single day, even when you fail, is another example of what I did in my own business. Before the internet, when I wanted to expose the world to my opportunity, I did not have the money to advertise. So, I was forced to talk about it with others, as a result of that.
Every single person that I spoke with said, "No, I'm not interested; I don't want to make extra money; Those things don't work; Those are scams; I don't want to have anything to do with that; Don't you ever approach me about things like that ever again; No, No, No No, NO!"
How, how many people in life, amongst the masses, are willing to continue after getting that many people reject what they're offering? I used to think they were rejecting me, until I woke up and realized that they're rejecting the opportunity and not me. But people take it personally, so they stop. They don't want to continue the actions that it takes to succeed.
How To Become Successful
So, how did I overcome that?
Well, that's really simple. I turned the heat up on my desire and determination where it did not matter. I had blinders on. That's how. I don't care who says "no" to me. I don't care if I talk to somebody, see if they'd like to look at a way to earn some income, or to benefit from the products and services that I provide and I don't care of they say "no!"
I'm going to keep going and keep going, like the sower and the seed. You sow enough seeds, some of them land on rocks and they'll never grow because they could never root. Some seeds land on soil and gets washed away by the wind and the weather. But other little seeds get in that soil, dig roots, grow into little seedlings and they become full-fledged plants.
That's the principle that I learned when learning how to become successful.
Everyone has different interests in life and they would like to succeed. But most people give up. They quit. Persistence is key to success. Napoleon Hill teaches that, too. I don't want to regurgitate other authors' and successful people's teachings, unless it's true!
When people say to me, "Oh, I've heard that before," I usually tell them it's because wherever they heard it before didn't lie the first time!
Here's how the world looks at persistence and determination: "Oh, he (or she) is a fanatic!" ...or... "They're just obsessed!"
Well, that's right! That's how gymnasts become successful! They obsess with their craft and they perfect it through persistence, continuous action, learning, correcting and adjusting. That's how artists become successful, too.
I hear people say, "Oh, but you have to have a raw talent for that!" That's true, but every human being that exists has raw talent. So, don't tell me that talent is the reason why those people are successful. You have your own talents. If you don't know what it is, then find it. Stop watching television, stop reading the newspapers and find who you are.
It's real simple. What would you love to have? What would you love to be? What would you love to do? Ask yourself those questions. Inside of you are talents that will help you to recognize and take action upon them.
Continue to do the things that it takes, for as long as it takes, no matter what anyone else says, or no matter how anyone else tries to knock you down, or criticize you, or mind your business. That's the mindset it takes.
Get out of that negative attitude and move into the world of a positive attitude even if it means that you have to be alone for a while. Why? Because the quietness of you own thoughts will settle and you'll be able to concentrate and focus on the things you wish to achieve in life.
I'm not saying to isolate yourself from the world. But what I did was made a conscious decision to not associate with negative people, anymore. Are there negative people where you work? Of course! Just don't associate with them, that's all. Disregard their mindsets.
Is that 'easier said than done,' for you? Sorry, that is a copout. It's not 'easier said than done!'
It's easier "thought!" Think. Use your brain. That's what we have it for. We were all born winners, every single one of us. Guess what? You already are successful! You just haven't realized it, yet.
So, if you think you're not successful yet, because you have this 'lot' in life, or you're earning this little bit of money, or you have all these problems in life; whether they're health, physical, or you're taking care of someone else, you are already a success!
How To Become Successful is simple.
Believe that you became successful the moment you were conceived and don't you ever forget that.
